"He kissed me, and I slapped him."
Actor Saanvie Tallwar has accused her former Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum co-star Karan Kundrra of harassment and physical assault on set.
The serious allegations were made across separate interviews with multiple publications and have sparked significant conversation online.
Kundrra, 41, has not publicly responded to any of the allegations made against him at the time of publishing this report.
His fiancée, actor Tejasswi Prakash, has also not commented on the deeply serious claims made by Tallwar against her partner.
Tallwar, 33, alleged that tensions on set began because she preferred to keep to herself rather than socialise with the team.
She claimed that this did not sit well with Kundrra or the show’s director, creating a hostile atmosphere around her.
She alleged that an incident during the filming of a scene later escalated into a serious and disturbing physical altercation.
Tallwar alleged: “There was a scene, but the director hadn’t clapped action.
“Even before that, he kissed me, and I slapped him.
“He didn’t react at that time, but then he came back after some time and slapped me hard.
“There is a difference between the intensity of a girl’s and a man’s slap.
“I fell on the floor, and then he abused me and my family.”
She further claimed that nobody on the set stepped forward to support her in the immediate aftermath of the incident.
“Nobody supported me. Later, Ektaa ma’am apologised on Karan’s behalf and supported me. She managed to make things easy.”
Tallwar also alleged that Kundrra was dating actor Anusha Dandekar at the time the alleged incident took place on set.
She claimed that Dandekar began visiting the sets after learning about what had allegedly occurred between Tallwar and Kundrra.
Despite this, Tallwar alleged that the overall work environment remained deeply difficult because of Kundrra and the show’s director.
In a separate interview, she alleged that the director began questioning her acting abilities after she stood up for herself.
She did not identify the director by name across any of the interviews she gave about the alleged incidents.
Deepak Vithoba Chauhan, Ranjan Kumar Singh and Randeep Shantaram Mahadik have all been credited as directors on Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum.
Tallwar also alleged that she had sensed Kundrra was interested in her personally but chose not to reciprocate his advances at all.
She said women often recognise the “male gaze” and explained that she had deliberately chosen to maintain her distance from him.
The allegations came months after Kundrra and Tejasswi Prakash got engaged on the Netflix reality show Desi Bling.
