"My heart skipped a few beats"
Vijay Deverakonda will be seen playing a cop in director Gowtam Tinnanuri’s next venture.
The actor announced his new film on January 13, 2023, on his social media handles and shared its poster.
As per the poster, it appears that the Arjun Reddy actor will portray the role of a police officer for the first time on the big screen.
He shared the poster and said his heart skipped a few beats when he heard the script for the first time.
He captioned the post: “The Script. The Team. My next. My heart skipped a few beats when I heard this. #VD12.”
The person in the poster is seen wearing a khaki uniform and a police cap against a rusty orange background.
The photomontage also shows a burning ship and a sentence that reads: “Don’t know where I belong to tell you whom I betrayed – Anonymous spy.”
Director Gowtam Tinnanuri, who had earlier directed the 2019 hit Jersey starring Nani, called his new collaboration with Vijay Deverakonda “special.”
He shared the poster and revealed that VD12 will be co-produced by Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainment and Fortune Four Cinemas.
A source close to the developments of the film said: “Gowtam Tinnanuri has proved his worth across Telugu and Hindi industries.

“His Jersey, which was released in 2019, won the Best Feature Film in Telugu and Best Editing awards respectively.
“The director promises to unveil a new dimension to Vijay Deverakonda with this film… the makers are confident that the director-actor combo will surpass the expectations of film buffs.”
A few hours before unveiling the first poster, producer Naga Vamsi teased fans about the film with a “spectacular” tweet.
He wrote: “We are not going to say that this is earth-shattering or massive or huge but this is something spectacular. Hope you all will join us at 7:11 PM, Today!”
The shoot for VD12 is expected to commence soon and more details about the cast and crew are expected to be announced shortly.
Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda was recently vacationing in the Maldives.
He was last seen in Puri Jagannadh’s Liger which marked his Bollywood debut. However, the film did not perform well at the box office.
Liger was produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and also starred Ananya Pandey in the lead role.
Apart from Gowtam Tinnanuri’s film, Vijay Deverakonda will also be seen in Kushi, alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
It is their second collaboration after 2018’s Mahanati.
