Saba Qamar and Irrfan Khan to dance on Sukhbir’s tunes

Lead actors, Saba Qamar and Irrfan Khan were recently spotted shooting a dance sequence for their upcoming film, Hindi Medium.

"The vibe on the sets is lively and Sukhbir singing live added to the energy of the song"

All cross-border collaborations came to a complete halt post the Uri attack. But now, as things are hopefully getting back to normal, we are finally getting updates on some promising projects. Like Saba Qamar and Irrfan Khan starrer, Hindi Medium.

The two lead artists – Pakistani actress Saba Qamar and Irrfan Khan – were recently spotted shooting in picturesque locales of Tbilisi, Georgia.

The image shared widely on Instagram shows the two stars from both sides of the border posing alongside popular Bhangra artist Sukhbir. According to reports, the three were there to shoot for the song, ‘Taare Gin Gin’.

‘Taare Gin Gin’ is one of Sukhbir’s hugely popular Bhangra songs from 1999.

The song is high on energy, upbeat and an out-and-out dance number. And while we are aware of Saba’s dancing skills having seen her move to ‘Kalabaaz Dil’ in her recent Pakistani release, we wonder if the sombre Irrfan will be able to match up to her abilities:

“Irrfan and Saba will be dancing to the tunes of this peppy number along with Sukhbir,” revealed a source from the sets.

“It is one of Irrfan’s favourite songs and both, Saba and he, start grooving as soon as it comes on.”

“The vibe on the sets is lively and Sukhbir singing live added to the energy of the song.”

Saba also shared pictures from the dubbing session for the film, so it’s obvious the film is well under completion.

Saba has, time and again, proved her mettle as a talented actress both on Pakistani television and the big screen.

Her role as Noor Jahan in Sarmad Khoosat’s Manto won her a lot critical acclaim. Saba has also been recently nominated for the LSA in the Best Film Actress category.

Knowing their acting prowess, it’d be exciting to see what Saba Qamar and Irrfan Khan bring to the table. Also, the fact that it is another Indo-Pak collaboration of sorts just adds to the excitement.

Directed by Saket Chaudhary, Hindi Medium is a film about a Hindi-speaking couple trying to get their son admission in an English medium school and their struggle to become part of the elite circle in the society.

The film is expected to hit theatres on 12th May 2017.
