Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 mocked for Visual Effects & Overacting

The Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 trailer is out but some fans made fun of its visual effects. Others accused the stars of overacting.

“I love Madhuri but what’s happening to her face?”

The much-awaited trailer for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was released, however, some viewers trolled the footage over its visual effects and performances.

The trailer launch event took place at Jaipur’s famous Raj Mandir Cinema.

Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan and Triptii Dimri attended, drawing a large crowd.

The trailer mixes horror elements with Kartik’s comedic timing, as he navigates the dark corridors, encounters creepy spirits, and tries to survive.

A major reveal is that there are two Manjulikas, with the second one played by Madhuri Dixit.

She joins Vidya Balan, who reprises her iconic role as the ghostly figure 17 years after the first film.

The final shots in the trailer hint at a massive face-off between the two Manjulikas, with Kartik’s Rooh Baba caught in the middle.

Despite the big reveal, viewers noticed how unnatural some of the scenes looked.

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts and discuss the CGI.

One person said: “Too much CGI looks cringe.”

Others made fun of Madhuri’s performance, claiming she was overacting.

Another said: “I love Madhuri but what’s happening to her face?”

Speaking about Madhuri, one person pointed out: “Her hair looks like a wig which will fly away with more air.”

Some also mocked Madhuri’s facial expression, with one Reddit user even starting a thread.

The thread was titled, “Is there a new trend to overact and make faces in the name of comedy? Doesn’t look funny or scary. Please get Priyadarshan back before the franchise gets associated with cringe content.”

Many also claimed that Madhuri Dixit’s introduction wasn’t that impactful.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 mocked for Unconvincing Visual Effects

Despite the backlash, many fans are excited about the release and can’t wait to see Madhuri and Vidya on one screen.

Triptii Dimri will be joining the star cast as the main romantic interest.

At the trailer launch event, Kartik Aryan praised his co-star saying:

“I had a great time working with Triptii. Our chemistry in the film will unfold for you all as the story progresses.

“It didn’t feel like I was acting with her for the first time in the film or in a scene.

“It felt like two actors naturally jelled together.

“We didn’t have any workshops, we met directly on set. But I really had a wonderful time and she is so hardworking.”

Director Anees Bazmee also shared his enthusiasm, saying:

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is a project very close to my heart.

“We have pushed the boundaries of the horror-comedy genre to bring something fresh and entertaining.”

“Working with such a talented cast and the entire team from crew members to technicians has been an absolute pleasure.

“I’m confident the audience will enjoy the journey we’ve crafted for them.”

Fans can look forward to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 hitting theatres just in time for Diwali.

It will be released on November 1, 2024.
