Submit Works
What We Need
We are looking for you to show us your individual and original talents in the art areas we have specific interest in. Namely, Short Fiction, Poetry and Vertical Comics.
On this page you can submit your original pieces of writing, or upload the audio and video files you would like us to consider for publication on DESIblitz Arts.
We require your works to have a South Asian theme with any kind of connection. Be it life experiences, reflection, opinion, characters, sounds, visuals or any other form of creative expression.
We request you submit new and original works and works you have not published elsewhere. Any exclusive submissions are welcomed.
All work must be the original work of the author, and submitted by the author only. Please read our full Terms and Conditions prior to submission.
We know we will not be able to publish every piece of work we are sent, so please don’t be disheartened if you are not lucky the first time around, we would love to hear from you again.
We look forward to receiving your submissions for the categories below.
Short Fiction
Flash Fiction
We have two categories of submissions for this genre, whether in written or audio from.
- Fictions of between 250 and 300 words.
- Fictions of between 300 and 500 words.
Please send no more than three flash fictions in one submission.
Short Stories
We will accept original short stories from 2,000 words up to a maximum of 3,500
words in length, whether in written or audio from. This does not include
title/authors name).
Please only send one short story per submission.
Poetry
There are many forms of poetry and we welcome any form and type.
We are happy to receive your original poetry in all forms.
If you have any illustrations you wish to send with your poetry you can do as long they are copyright cleared. This includes images and photographs.
Please send no more than three examples of your poetry in one submission.
Vertical Comics
If you are a creative person with an interest in creating short comics as an expression of art or telling stories, we want to hear from you.
We are looking for comics created with the following:
- A vertical comic strip with 500 x 2500 px dimensions (w x h – max).
- No more than 5 scenes per vertical comic strip
- South Asian themes with stories told through the characters in the comic
In order to be considered for publication, you need to produce good quality JPG or PNG images for the format of the overall comic strip.
Stories can be fun, humorous or promote strong social message.
The Process
Submit
Simply use our form below to submit your works to us. Include any attachments in Word or PDF format for text, and JPG, PNG format for comics or images.
REVIEW
We review your works and let you know when it is acceptable to be published.
PUBLISH
After the review, your works are published under the appropriate section on DESIblitz Arts for our audience to enjoy.
