Our client one of the UK’s largest printers is currently recruiting for a Trainee Printer to join their team at their Corby Site working a 3 shift rotating system.

The shift system is a weekly rotating system

Week 1 – 6am to 1.30pm – Monday to Friday

Week 2 – 9pm to 6am – Nights – Monday to Thursday 4 day week

Week 3 – 1.30pm to 9pm – Monday to Friday

The Role & Key Purpose of the role

The successful candidate would be expected to learn all principal aspects of the flexographic printing which include:

• Adhering to site safety rules and procedures;
• Paper awareness;
• Ink matching, colour technology and management;
• Machine setting and problem solving;
• Production efficiency;
• Housekeeping and maintenance of machines;
• Performing regular QC checks in line to ISO requirements.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualification & experience 

• Ability to work under pressure and at times meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining safe working practices and product quality;
• Experience of working within a busy manufacturing environment;
• Previous knowledge of operating large format pre-print printing presses or similar equipment;
• Strong technical ability;
• Excellent attention to detail and be methodical in their approach;
• Have an excellent eye for colour;
• An excellent team player;
• Must be keen, flexible, hardworking and enthusiastic.

Salary is starting at around £9.00 and hour

Plus a 22% shift allowance – taking the combined salary to around £22k per year
