Element Environmental Laboratory has an opportunity for an Asbestos Analyst – Trainee Asbestos Analyst to join the team within our Deeside Laboratory. The department undertakes asbestos identification and quantification in soils and ACMs under ISO 17025 accreditation

Responsibilities

• Analyse soil and bulk materials for the presence and quantity of asbestos
• Prepare samples when required
• Follow procedures and ensure the quality standard is met
• Provide training to other team members
• Participate in quality assurance audit programme
• Keep the laboratory safe, clean and tidy

Skills / Qualifications

• The successful candidate will possess as a minimum a P401 qualification.  However, candidates willing to train for the P401qualification will also be considered (trainee role)
• Experience and knowledge of ISO 17025 and Lab 30 practices and procedures advantageous
• A team player
• Organised and motivated
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines
