The Opportunity

APD Limited is offering a full-time position as an Electrical Panel Test Technician to join our experienced team, testing all products produced to ensure we continue to deliver high quality products and an efficient and effective service to our customers.

What You will be Doing

This is a skilled role, responsible for conducting a comprehensive test on all products, recording test results accurately, ensuring each product meets the quality standard and specific test parameters requested by the customer and/or project manager.

You will be required to fault-find failures to component level and identify the root cause, record findings accurately, and conduct acceptance testing with customers present. You will ensure all testing is completed on time and provide necessary documentation for test procedures. You will play a key role in the continuous improvement programme, such as logging non-conformities and identifying opportunities for improvement to ensure compliance with the quality management system.

A good working knowledge of both analogue and digital circuitry and experience with power supply circuitry. You will work collaboratively with the technical support engineers and project managers to create and develop test/evaluation plans and procedures.

You are responsible for maintaining product continuity and quality and are expected to deliver products to dispatch on time.

You will work well with other staff members and provide technical guidance and support to the panel builders as required and be responsible for ensuring you adhere to Health and Safety legislation and in compliance with the company policies and procedures at all times.

The Successful Candidate will have:

A minimum of a Level 3 Apprenticeship in electrical design engineering or engineering technician, or an equivalent qualification in electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.

An analytical and logical mind to help with solving problems, good communication skills for liaising with other staff and, on occasion, customers. Good practical skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail, organisational skills to enable you to plan and coordinate resources and to remain calm under pressure, as you will be required to work to deadlines.
