We’re recruiting for a Customer Engagement Specialist, a newly created position designed to strengthen how customers are supported, communicated with and retained.

About the business
Our client is a well-established manufacturing SME with over a century of history. They produce specialist engineered solutions used in sectors including aerospace, defence and power generation.
Alongside this impressive technical capability they place just as much importance on the way they support and communicate with their customers.
The role
This position sits at the centre of the business, connecting customers with internal teams and ensuring everything runs smoothly from order to delivery.
You’ll take ownership of the customer experience — not in a scripted or reactive way, but by staying one step ahead, keeping communication clear and building trust over time.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing customer onboarding from initial order through to delivery
- Keeping customers regularly updated on progress and timelines
- Acting as the main point of contact for questions and issue resolution
- Coordinating quotations, orders and supporting documentation
- Working closely with production and operations teams
- Communicating any delays or changes clearly and proactively
- Looking for ways to improve the overall customer journey
What we’re looking for:
This role is all about mindset and approach.
You might come from a background in:
- Customer service
- Internal sales / Account management
- Customer success
More importantly, you’ll be someone who:
- Enjoys building genuine, long-term relationships
- Communicates clearly and confidently
- Is organised and detail-oriented
- Takes ownership and sees things through
- Stays calm and solution-focused under pressure
- Works well with different teams across a business
An interest in manufacturing or engineering would be helpful, but it’s not essential — you’ll be supported in learning the technical side.
