Angela Rideau, known by her stage name “Poems From My Heart,” hails from the heart of the Black Country in Wolverhampton. She is a captivating poet and writer whose work delves into themes of trauma, identity, and the experiences of growing up within the South-Asian diaspora. Her debut poetry collection, ‘Honeybee: Poems of Heritage, Hurting, Resilience, and Healing’ is a poignant exploration of healing, femininity, and the complexities of her cultural heritage.

Her magnetic stage presence has captivated audiences at various events, including performances and headlining slots at esteemed gatherings such as Mishti Dance, Mind Over Matter, The Mother Wolf Poetry Club, and FloVortex. Angela’s performances leave an unforgettable impression, as her words resonate deeply with listeners, evoking emotions and fostering connections.

In addition to her written work, Angela is also a talented podcast host, running ‘Poems From My Heart.’ Through her podcast, she passionately amplifies the voices of artists, poets, writers, and activists who explore taboos and spoken word poetry, providing a platform for their stories and perspectives to be heard. She uses her artistry as a means to uplift and empower marginalized voices, bridging divides and promoting understanding in a world that often seeks to silence the voices of the unheard.

Angela’s artistic endeavours extend beyond poetry, as she is currently embarking on an exciting exploration of music and spoken word. Her upcoming debut Spoken Word Music EP promises to blend her evocative poetry and heartfelt lyrics with the mesmerizing sounds of the Asian Underground, infused with Eastern Drum and Bass beats.
