We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our client based in Derby. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week across 5 days. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the primary point of contact for the finance department, managing accounts inboxes, and responding to finance-related queries
• Accurately entering purchase invoices into the finance system
• Requesting quotes, raising purchase orders, and setting up new supplier accounts
• Performing bank reconciliations and managing banking activities, including petty cash, floats, and weekly banking
• Ensuring accurate reporting of takings and facilitating change orders as required
• Assisting with inventory stocktakes for relevant areas of the business
• Managing supplier and customer contracts efficiently
• Handling accounts, including issuing invoices and managing payments
• Supporting month-end processes, ensuring all invoices and banking tasks are completed on time

The successful candidate, must have full driving license and own transport as the role will require working across 2 sites (both Derby based) in addition to the skills below:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work
• Proactive in resolving queries and providing timely solutions
• Capable of working effectively under deadlines

• Familiarity with Xero or other similar accounting software
