Job Title: Nursery Nurse (Early Years Practitioner)
Location: Wigan
Contract: Full-time or Term-time Only

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a fantastic private nursery in Wigan for a dedicated and caring Nursery Nurse (Early Years Practitioner). This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic early years professional who is passionate about supporting young children in a nurturing, play-based environment.

In this role, you will be working as part of a friendly nursery team, supporting children through their early development and helping to create a safe, stimulating, and caring environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the nursery team in delivering high-quality early years care and learning
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5
• Support children’s development through play-based activities and exploration
• Assist with personal care routines including feeding, toileting, and hygiene
• Promote early communication, language, social, and emotional development
• Observe, assess, and record children’s progress in line with EYFS guidelines
• Build strong, caring relationships with children and families

Essential Criteria:

• Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework
• A warm, patient, and caring approach to working with young children
• Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team

Desirable:

• Experience working with babies and toddlers as well as preschool-aged children
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and nursery best practice
• Experience supporting children with additional needs or EAL
