Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.\u00a0This role will be within the\u00a0CWA Wide Section.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What will you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Insurance Manager will oversee all aspects of the Civil Works Alliance&#8217;s insurance program, ensuring appropriate risk transfer and comprehensive protection across construction operations. This is a strategic role reporting to senior management, where you will:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Develop, implement, and manage the Civil Works Alliance&#8217;s insurance strategy, working collaboratively with the Client (Sizewell C Limited) and the three Implementation Participants (Balfour Beatty, Bouygues, and Laing O&#8217;Rourke)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Manage relationships with external insurance brokers, insurers, loss adjusters, and insurance leads across all partner organisations<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Arrange and administer insurance policies specifically tailored to the Civil Works Alliance&#8217;s needs, managing annual renewals and tender processes<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Review contractual insurance requirements across the main contract and subcontracts, advising commercial and project teams on insurance provisions<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Manage and coordinate insurance claims from notification through to settlement, investigating incidents affecting insurance exposure and supporting claims resolution<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Monitor claims trends and identify opportunities to reduce future losses and minimise financial exposure<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Maintain accurate insurance records, certificates, and policy documentation; coordinate the issue of insurance certificates to the Client and stakeholders<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Advise procurement teams on supply chain insurance requirements, reviewing subcontractor documentation and ensuring compliance<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Work alongside Health &amp; Safety and Risk teams to improve risk management processes and business continuity planning<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Provide senior management with advice regarding emerging insurance risks and prepare reports on insurance costs, claims performance, and market developments<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are we looking for?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced insurance professional with a proven track record in the construction or infrastructure sector. You will demonstrate:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Experience &amp; Knowledge:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Significant experience managing insurance within construction or infrastructure environments<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Strong knowledge of UK construction insurance products, risk management, and complex claims handling<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Familiarity with standard construction contracts, including NEC4 contracts<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interface with those unfamiliar with insurance matters<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Capability to work autonomously and unsupervised while effectively collaborating with internal teams and external partners<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desirable Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualification or equivalent, or working towards Chartered status<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, or a related discipline<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Understanding of contract law relating to insurance obligations<\/p>\n<p><strong>What we will offer you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The CWA is a single delivery organisation made of up of the client (Sizewell C) and three parent companies &#8211; Balfour Beatty, Bouygues and Laing O&#8217;Rourke &#8211; which offer industry leading packages including market leading salaries, generous annual leave entitlements, pension scheme and other flexible benefits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Us<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The CWA celebrates the creativity and innovation that comes from a diverse workforce, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds \u2014 especially those from under\u2011represented communities.
