This is a varied role offering the opportunity to develop your skills across product design, development, testing, manufacturing and continuous improvement, working alongside experienced Product Architects and Lead Design Engineers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll be involved throughout the product development lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility through to testing, pre-production and manufacture.<\/p>\n<p>Your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Designing and developing new products for international manufacturing sites.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting existing products through design improvements, cost reduction and quality enhancement.<\/li>\n<li>Optimising designs for manufacture and assembly.<\/li>\n<li>Developing and coordinating product testing and validation.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.<\/li>\n<li>Working with suppliers, customers and internal teams on technical requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Producing technical reports and project updates.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting projects through to successful production.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About You<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll ideally have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent engineering qualification.<\/li>\n<li>Around 1\u20132 years\u2019 relevant industry experience in mechanical design, product development or a similar engineering environment.<\/li>\n<li>Experience using <strong>3D CAD<\/strong>, ideally SolidWorks.<\/li>\n<li>A good understanding of mechanical design, components and manufacturing processes.<\/li>\n<li>An interest in how products are designed, manufactured and improved.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>A proactive, self-motivated approach and a willingness to learn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Experience in areas such as FEA, DFMEA\/PFMEA, plastics, metal pressing, electro-mechanical design, NPI, test development or Design for Six Sigma would be advantageous, but experience across all these areas is not expected.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why Join?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to broaden their technical experience and develop a long-term career in product design and development.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll work within an international engineering and manufacturing environment, with exposure to teams across the <strong>UK, Europe and Asia<\/strong> and occasional international travel.<\/p>\n<p>The role offers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive salary<\/li>\n<li>33 days&#8217; holiday including Bank Holidays<\/li>\n<li>Contributory pension<\/li>\n<li>Healthcare for you and your dependants<\/li>\n<li>Excellent technical development and career progression opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Based in\u00a0Derbyshire.
