{"id":63409,"date":"2026-09-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.desiblitz.com\/jobs\/job\/primary-cover-supervisor-hlta\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T19:35:53","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T18:35:53","slug":"primary-cover-supervisor-hlta","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.desiblitz.com\/jobs\/job\/primary-cover-supervisor-hlta\/","title":{"rendered":"Primary Cover Supervisor\/HLTA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PPA \/ Cover HLTA or Primary Cover Supervisor<\/p>\n<p><strong>Southall, Ealing<\/strong><br \/><strong>Full-Time | Start ASAP<\/strong><br \/><strong>8:15am &#8211; 3:30pm<\/strong><br \/><strong>\u00a3105 per day PAYE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An <strong>Outstanding-rated primary school in Southall<\/strong> is looking for an experienced <strong>HLTA or Primary Cover Supervisor<\/strong> to provide PPA and general classroom cover across the school.<\/p>\n<p>The role is available to start <strong>ASAP<\/strong>, with the school keen to arrange <strong>interviews and trial days shortly<\/strong> for suitable candidates.<\/p>\n<p>This is a teaching and classroom-based role rather than a planning position. <strong>Planning is provided<\/strong>, so the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering prepared lessons and managing classes effectively.<\/p>\n<p>The Role<\/p>\n<p>You will be responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Providing PPA and general cover across the primary school<\/li>\n<li>Covering classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as required<\/li>\n<li>Delivering pre-planned lessons provided by class teachers<\/li>\n<li>Managing behaviour and maintaining classroom routines<\/li>\n<li>Supporting pupils to remain engaged and on task<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring lessons run effectively in the absence of the class teacher<\/li>\n<li>Working with school staff to provide consistent support to pupils<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements<\/p>\n<p>The school is looking for someone who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Has previous experience <strong>covering primary classes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Is confident managing a class independently<\/li>\n<li>Can follow and deliver existing lesson plans<\/li>\n<li>Has strong behaviour management skills<\/li>\n<li>Can adapt quickly between different year groups<\/li>\n<li>Is reliable, professional and confident working across a school<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This role would suit an experienced <strong>HLTA, Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant with cover experience, or aspiring teacher<\/strong> who is comfortable taking responsibility for a class.<\/p>\n<p>About the School<\/p>\n<p>The school is an <strong>Ofsted-rated Outstanding primary school<\/strong> in Southall with high expectations for teaching, learning and behaviour.<\/p>\n<p>The school has a supportive staff team, good facilities and <strong>on-site parking<\/strong>, making it convenient for candidates travelling by car.
