Behaviour Support Worker \/ SEN Teaching Assistant
Location – South Manchester (M12)
Pay – GBP500-GBP550 per week, depending on experience

Are you an experienced behaviour mentor, looking to secure a September role? Prospero Teaching are working with a primary, Pupil Referral Unit in Manchester to recruit Behaviour Support Workers and Teaching Assistants to join their supportive team from September.
The school is a specialist, Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Manchester that supports pupils who have been excluded or unable to access to mainstream education due to behavioural, emotional or social needs. The school provides a structured routine, clear boundaries and high levels of pastoral support.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
\u00b7 Support pupils on 1:1 and small group basis, helping them to engage in learning and regulate emotions
\u00b7 Assist in managing challenging behaviour and sometimes high-risk behaviours, using positive behaviour strategies
\u00b7 Build strong, professional relationships with pupils
\u00b7 Work closely with other staff members, SEN professionals and external agencies to support development
Requirements:
\u00b7 Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH, SEN, or in a PRU\/youth setting is advantageous.
\u00b7 A calm, patient, and resilient approach with the ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
\u00b7 Confidence in setting boundaries and following behaviour management plans consistently.
\u00b7 Flexibility, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
\u00b7 Ideal candidates will have a sports, youth work and mentoring background.<\/p>\n
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
\u00b7 Hold Right to Work in the UK
\u00b7 Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
\u00b7 Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
