&pound;50K dependent on experience<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Type: <\/strong>Permanent<\/p>\n<p>A Shift Manager in food manufacturing supports the Production Manager in overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure products are made safely, efficiently, on time, and within quality standards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Production Operations <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise daily production activities on the floor.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure production targets (volume, OEE, yield, efficiency) are met.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor workflow and adjust schedules as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce downtime and improve productivity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Food Safety &amp; Quality Compliance <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure compliance with:\n<ul>\n<li>HACCP<\/li>\n<li>GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)<\/li>\n<li>FDA \/ local food regulations<\/li>\n<li>ISO \/ FSSC standards (if applicable)<\/li>\n<li>Monitor hygiene, sanitation, and CCPs (Critical Control Points)<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with Quality Assurance teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Team Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise line leaders and production staff and Dispatch Operations.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct shift briefings.<\/li>\n<li>Train employees on SOPs and safety procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Handle attendance, discipline, and performance issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Inventory &amp; Materials Control <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate raw material availability.<\/li>\n<li>Minimise waste and product loss.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor packaging material usage.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure outload of materials are conducted in a timely manner to achieve on time in full KPIs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Equipment &amp; Maintenance <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure machinery is operating properly.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate preventive maintenance.<\/li>\n<li>Report breakdowns and reduce production delays.<\/li>\n<li>Report shortages predicted to enable this to be managed with customers.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting &amp; Documentation <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain production reports.<\/li>\n<li>Track KPIs (OEE, yield, downtime, OTIS, waste).<\/li>\n<li>Prepare daily\/weekly performance summaries.<\/li>\n<li>Manage 121s for direct line reports.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of food safety regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Leadership &amp; people management.<\/li>\n<li>Problem-solving under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of production &amp; dispatch planning.<\/li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Educational Background <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Food Science<\/li>\n<li>Food Technology<\/li>\n<li>Industrial Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Manufacturing\/Production Engineering<\/li>\n<li>3&ndash;5 years experience in food manufacturing and Dispatch Operations.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shifts are the following<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday to Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Occasional weekend work during peak seasons&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shifts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>40 hours per week with one hour for lunch unpaid<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rotating:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>08.30 &#8211; 17.30 Week 1<\/p>\n<p>11.00 &#8211; 20.00 Week 2<\/p>\n<p>15.00 &#8211; Finish (1am usually)&ensp;&ensp;&ensp;&ensp;Week 3<\/p>\n<p>When working 15.00 onwards shift allowance of &pound;100 will be provided
