Working closely with suppliers, buyers, and the wider finance team, you will help maintain strong financial controls and support the efficient operation of the business. Key Responsibilities The Successful Accounts Payable Specialist will have<\/strong><\/p>\n • Previous experience within a Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable, or similar finance role. \n• Invoice Processing: Match, code and post high volumes of purchase invoices and credit notes into the accounting system using semi-automated invoice matching software.
\n• Payment Runs: Prepare and execute electronic payment runs in line with cash flow targets and supplier payment terms.
\n• Statement Reconciliations: Perform regular supplier statement reconciliations and investigate pricing discrepancies.
\n• Query Management: Resolve internal and external invoice queries through effective communication with suppliers and internal buying teams.
\n• Cash Flow Management: Maintain and update the short-term cash flow spreadsheet.<\/p>\n
\n• Ideally a proven track record working within distribution, wholesale, FMCG, or supply chain environments.
\n• Familiarity with systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage 200, or similar ERP platforms, as well as invoice matching software.
\n• Excellent numerical accuracy and data entry precision.
\n• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to build positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
\n• Ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines.<\/p>\n
