{"id":63085,"date":"2026-08-27T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.desiblitz.com\/jobs\/job\/photographer\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T11:37:02","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T10:37:02","slug":"photographer","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.desiblitz.com\/jobs\/job\/photographer\/","title":{"rendered":"Photographer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Photographer &ndash; <\/strong>Primarily covering Newcastle, Durham and the surrounding area<\/p>\n<p>If you have a love of photography and working with children we want to hear from you.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic people, preferably with school photography experience (but not essential as full training is provided), in a term time permanent role or alternatively on a zero hours contract to work with our friendly team in the North East, primarily covering Newcastle, Durham and the surrounding area.<\/p>\n<p>H Tempest Ltd is the nation&rsquo;s largest school photography company with over 500 employees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our Head Office and Laboratory is based in St Ives, Cornwall and our Photographers are resident throughout the UK.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We take photographs of children at playgroups and nurseries, primary and secondary schools and graduates at universities and colleges as well as the Armed Forces and Corporate Photography.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you want to join us&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are committed to making sure that H Tempest remains the best in the business and a great place to work. Our staff are the most important asset and therefore we will continue to invest in you!<\/p>\n<p>We support our Photographers to develop their skills and achieve brilliant photos but to be successful in this job you will need to<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide an excellent all-round customer service experience for clients<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a great relationship with current client base and enjoy meeting new people<\/li>\n<li>Make everyone smile, from babies and children to adults<\/li>\n<li>Be enthusiastic and energetic with a pleasant manner and professional demeanour<\/li>\n<li>Be happy to work both as part of a small team and also independently<\/li>\n<li>Be flexible in working times; early starts are sometimes necessary particularly through the autumn term<\/li>\n<li>Experience photographing in schools an advantage but not essential<\/li>\n<li>Be happy to travel and have more than twelve months driving experience with full UK license<\/li>\n<li>Be willing to undergo a DBS check and provide two referees, prior to starting with us<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a term time permanent role you will enjoy the following benefits<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Term<\/strong><strong>-time<\/strong>: enjoy school holidays, weekends and quieter times of the academic year when there is little or no photography<\/li>\n<li><strong>Starting monthly salary<\/strong>: &pound;765 paid on a monthly basis, with performance related reviews and possible increments made every six months for the initial two years of service.&nbsp; In addition, commission is generated from the sale of photographs taken by you.&nbsp; If your commission exceeds your annual salary a balancing payment is due.&nbsp; There is the opportunity to earn extra money during quieter periods with our university graduation team<\/li>\n<li><strong>Company vehicle<\/strong>: you may be provided with a taxed, insured and maintained company vehicle which will be discussed at interview<\/li>\n<li><strong>Equipment<\/strong>: full photographic equipment is provided<\/li>\n<li><strong>Expense reimbursement<\/strong>: we reimburse all authorized business-related expenses<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pension scheme<\/strong>: after 3 months of service we will enrol you in the Pension scheme (you can opt-in sooner).&nbsp; Life cover also becomes available on the 1st of August after one year&rsquo;s service<\/li>\n<li><strong>Professional training<\/strong>: we provide full training at the start of employment and on-going training and support.&nbsp; Training includes Health &amp; Safety and Manual Handling.&nbsp; We will give you great, industry leading field-based training for the role to ensure you succeed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On a zero hours contract you will enjoy the following benefits<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Term<\/strong><strong>-time<\/strong>: zero hours contract to cover our busiest periods mainly from September to the end of November and Easter to the end of June<\/li>\n<li><strong>Daily rate: <\/strong>&pound;120 per day\/&pound;60 per half day.
