The Credit Control Officer plays a vital role in improving cashflow, reducing bad debt and maintaining financial stability \u2014 while continuing to deliver best-in-class customer service. Working closely with the Customer Care Team, you will take ownership of the\u00a0residential credit control process across both credit-billed and prepayment customers, and assist with the processing and reconciliation of incoming payments.<\/p>\n
With customer contact at the heart of the role, you will speak to customers on the phone daily, so you must be confident handling difficult conversations with empathy and understanding.<\/p>\n

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Lead the residential customer credit control process, making sure it is followed and that proactive steps are taken to collect customer monies accurately and on time<\/p>\n
\u2022 Negotiate manageable repayment plans with customers who are struggling to pay, and monitor them regularly to make sure they are adhered to<\/p>\n
\u2022 Carry out weekly account balance reviews for customers and oversee our credit control process<\/p>\n
\u2022 Produce monthly aged debt reports and meet debt-reduction targets to minimise overdue debt<\/p>\n
\u2022 Assist with the processing and reconciliation of incoming payments<\/p>\n
\u2022 Support the wider billing and finance team with other tasks as required<\/p>\n

\u2022 A confident, persistent self-starter who takes ownership, uses initiative and works well under pressure<\/p>\n
\u2022 Able to work collaboratively and independently, and happy to cover colleagues\u2019 work where needed<\/p>\n

\u2022 Excellent IT skills, including at least intermediate Microsoft Excel<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience in a customer-facing credit control or debt collection environment<\/p>\n
