Location:<\/strong> Barnet, North London Enrich Education Recruitment is working with a welcoming 3-form-entry primary school in Barnet<\/strong> seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with autism and speech and language needs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The pupil benefits from clear routines, visual support and an adult who can break learning into manageable steps while encouraging communication and independence.<\/p>\n This is an excellent opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant looking to join a well-supported school for the academic year.<\/p>\n The Role<\/p>\n Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will:<\/p>\n Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Support communication and language development<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Use visual resources and clear routines<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Break classroom activities into manageable steps<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Support transitions between activities<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Encourage interaction with peers<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Help with emotional and sensory regulation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Deliver targeted literacy and communication activities<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Promote confidence and independence<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Essential Skills & Experience<\/p>\n The successful candidate will ideally have:<\/p>\n Experience supporting children with ASD or SEN<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Confidence providing 1:1 support<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A calm, patient and consistent approach<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Good communication skills<\/p>\n<\/li>\n The ability to adapt activities and instructions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A reliable and professional attitude<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Availability for a full-time, long-term position<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Experience with PECS, visual timetables, now-and-next boards, speech and language interventions or sensory strategies would be particularly useful.<\/p>\n The School<\/p>\n This is a friendly 3-form-entry primary school<\/strong> with an established SEN team and experienced Teaching Assistants across the year groups.<\/p>\n Staff work collaboratively and Teaching Assistants are well supported by class teachers and the SENCO.
