SEN Teaching Assistant \u2013 ASD & Emotional Regulation \u2013 Haringey<\/p>\n
Location:<\/strong> Haringey, North London Enrich Education Recruitment is working with an inclusive 1-form-entry primary school in Haringey seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil with autism and emotional regulation needs.<\/p>\n The pupil is able to access classroom learning but can become overwhelmed by challenging tasks, transitions and changes to routine.<\/p>\n The school is looking for someone calm, confident and consistent<\/strong> who can recognise when support is needed while gradually encouraging greater independence.<\/p>\n The Role<\/p>\n You will work alongside the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to:<\/p>\n Provide focused 1:1 SEN support<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Help the pupil remain engaged during lessons<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Break longer activities into achievable steps<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Prepare the pupil for transitions and changes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Support emotional and sensory regulation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Use visual resources and clear routines<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Encourage positive communication with peers<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Support literacy and numeracy<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Promote confidence and independence<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Essential Skills & Experience<\/p>\n We’re particularly interested in candidates with:<\/p>\n Experience supporting ASD, ADHD or SEMH<\/p>\n<\/li>\n An understanding of emotional regulation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Strong behaviour-management skills<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A calm and consistent approach<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Confidence establishing positive boundaries<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Good communication skills<\/p>\n<\/li>\n The ability to commit long-term<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Experience using Zones of Regulation, visual timetables, sensory strategies, movement breaks and de-escalation techniques<\/strong> would be advantageous.<\/p>\n The School<\/p>\n The school is a large, welcoming 3-form-entry primary<\/strong> with a strong commitment to inclusion.<\/p>\n You’ll join an experienced Key Stage 2 team with multiple class teachers, Teaching Assistants and established SEN support<\/strong>, giving you plenty of support throughout the placement.<\/p>\n Staff enjoy the collaborative atmosphere and supportive leadership, with SEN staff working closely alongside teaching teams.<\/p>\n The school has strong transport connections and is accessible from Wood Green, Hornsey, Tottenham, Crouch End, Muswell Hill and surrounding areas, with Underground, rail and bus links nearby.<\/p>\n Enrich Education Recruitment is committed to safeguarding children.
