About the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Stores Person is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient management of materials within the electrical store’s facility. The role supports operational and project teams by ensuring that electrical equipment, plant items, and materials are correctly received, stored, controlled, and issued.<\/p>\n

The role also requires the safe operation of material handling equipment, including operating counterbalnce forklift truck, to facilitate the movement of heavy materials within the stores and yard areas and ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety regulations, and stock management processes.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Materials Receiving and Storage<\/strong><\/p>\n

Receive and inspect deliveries of electrical equipment, plant, and materials, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and delivery documentation.<\/p>\n

Safely unload and store items including large cable drums, transformers, switchgear components, and monitoring equipment.<\/p>\n

Ensure all materials are appropriately labelled, recorded, and stored in designated locations.<\/p>\n

Report damaged, incorrect, or missing goods in accordance with company procedures.<\/p>\n

Stock Control and Inventory Management<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems and documentation.<\/p>\n

Conduct routine stock checks and participate in periodic stock audits.<\/p>\n

Monitor stock levels and notify the Stores Supervisor of shortages or discrepancies.<\/p>\n

Ensure proper traceability of equipment where required.<\/p>\n

Materials Issue and Distribution<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pick, pack, and issue materials to operational teams and project personnel.<\/p>\n

Prepare materials and plant for dispatch to operational sites.<\/p>\n

Assist with loading vehicles and ensuring loads are secured safely.<\/p>\n

Equipment Handling and Plant Movement<\/strong><\/p>\n

Safely handle heavy or oversized equipment using appropriate lifting methods.<\/p>\n

Operate a counterbalance forklift truck for loading, unloading, and internal transport of materials.<\/p>\n

Assist with the handling and positioning of large cable drums and plant equipment in the yard and stores areas.<\/p>\n

Stores Maintenance<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment within the stores and yard.<\/p>\n

Ensure storage areas are clearly marked, and materials are stored safely to prevent hazards.<\/p>\n

Maintain safe access routes and ensure good housekeeping standards.<\/p>\n
