{"id":60603,"date":"2026-05-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-17T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.desiblitz.com\/jobs\/job\/legal-secretary-commercial-property\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T16:23:04","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T15:23:04","slug":"legal-secretary-commercial-property","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.desiblitz.com\/jobs\/job\/legal-secretary-commercial-property\/","title":{"rendered":"Legal Secretary Commercial Property"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Legal Secretary&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My client is a commercial property law firm based in Bishops Stortford and they now require a stand a alone Legal Secretary on a full-time office basis with the potential for hybrid working in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The Solicitor who you will be supporting works across multiple sites and so the jobholder will need to work independently and will be self motivated to achieve the allocated work.<\/p>\n<p>The job requirements are as follows<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic drafting and preparation of correspondence and legal documents under the supervision of the relevant fee earner. It would be helpful if the candidate could prepare and amend spreadsheets where necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Audio typing from digital dictation as well as copy-typing amendments to documents to include checking that all correspondence and documents are correct and in the in-house style prior to sending.<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with HMRC and the Land Registry including but not limited to SDLT, registering documents and closures of title and responding to requisitions.<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out searches at the Local Authorities using online search providers and portals.<\/li>\n<li>Responding to clients by telephone and email in a professional way conveying messages to fee earners where required.<\/li>\n<li>Building and maintaining knowledge of clients and their matters, and the work in general.<\/li>\n<li>Archiving closed files and dealing with GDPR.<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with suppliers and with dedicated technical support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ideal person will have previous commercial legal secretarial experience; be task focussed with an adaptable personality and thrive on being highly organised.<\/p>\n<p>The working environment is informal, 40 hours per week on a temp to perm basis.
