{"id":60294,"date":"2026-05-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-09T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.desiblitz.com\/jobs\/job\/construction-tutor\/"},"modified":"2026-05-10T08:19:58","modified_gmt":"2026-05-10T07:19:58","slug":"construction-tutor","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.desiblitz.com\/jobs\/job\/construction-tutor\/","title":{"rendered":"CONSTRUCTION TUTOR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>CONSTRUCTION TUTOR OR TRAINEE CONSTRUCTION TUTOR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Why do Construction Trades people come off the tools and into a class room?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8.00 a.m. &#8211; 4.00 p.m. &#8211; no long days<\/li>\n<li>Week days only &#8211; no weekends and no evenings<\/li>\n<li>Work inside a purpose built class room &#8211; no working out in the cold or the wet<\/li>\n<li>11 weeks holiday a year<\/li>\n<li>The immense job satisfaction gained from seeing young people progress.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Company:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This well established training provider has been delivering introductory construction trades training to young people for over 10 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>By introducing construction trades skills to young people, this training provider has proved to be very successful in providing a pathway into various aspects of construction.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Many of its young learners have gone on to secure apprenticeships and trainee jobs within construction trades.<\/p>\n<p>This has brought about continued success and the need to grow the team further.<\/p>\n<p>All the workshops are well equipped.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Role: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You&#8217;d be\u00a0giving practical demonstrations on various aspects of low level construction skills &#8211; what ever your specialism &#8211; such as bricklaying, carpentry, painting and decorating, tiling etc.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>NO PREVIOUS TEACHING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.\u00a0 FULL TRAINING PROVIDED.<\/li>\n<li>You would be working with a class room and work shop with a ratio of two instructors to seven young people.\u00a0 This emans you have plenty time to dedicate to supporting and coaching.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;d be providing young people with tasters of basic level construction skills that will help them secure construction apprenticeships or further training.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>90% of the training is practical as the company have found that this is the way most young people learn best.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Working hours are 8.00 a.m. &#8211; 4.00 p.m. but classes are 9.30 a.m. &#8211; 3.00 p.m.\u00a0 The role is five days a week but teaching is four days a week so plenty time for admin etc.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Term Time Only &#8211; working 41 weeks per annum &#8211; 11 weeks holiday.<\/li>\n<li>The starting salary is \u00a327,500 \u00a0which raises to \u00a330,000 on passing probation.<\/li>\n<li>The salary increases by 5% per annum.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>If you possess teaching \/ coaching \/ mentoring experience but don\u2019t have formal training qualifications, the opportunity will be provided for you to gain them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The candidate<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience within any construction trades \u2013 carpentry, joinery, bricklaying, plastering, painting, tiling, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience of working with young people &#8211; maybe you have been responsible for looking after apprentices and demonstrating skills, or an activity leader, cub\/beaver volunteer, sports coach, foster carer &#8211; any experience like that would be relevant.<\/li>\n<li>Good, clear communication skills.
