These positions are firmly rooted in education &mdash; working within classrooms to support learning, assist with behaviour management, supervise lessons, and help keep students engaged and on track throughout the school day.<\/p>\n<p>If you are ready to take your people skills out of the gym or off the pitch and into a setting where they can genuinely shape young people&#8217;s futures, this could be the perfect next step.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a school-based support role, not a sports delivery position. Your day-to-day focus will be on assisting teachers in the classroom, supervising lessons, and providing learning and behaviour support to pupils who need it most. The confidence, discipline, and communication skills you have developed through sport will be invaluable &mdash; but your primary purpose is to support students in their learning, not to coach them in sport.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining an effective learning environment<\/li>\n<li>Supervise classes in a cover or learning support capacity, keeping pupils focused on set tasks<\/li>\n<li>Apply coaching skills to de-escalate situations, build rapport, and motivate disengaged students<\/li>\n<li>Assist individual pupils or small groups who require additional support or guidance<\/li>\n<li>Help maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive atmosphere throughout the school day<\/li>\n<li>Communicate clearly with teaching and pastoral staff regarding student progress and behaviour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A background in sports coaching, fitness instruction, youth work, or a similar people-facing role<\/li>\n<li>Confidence and composure when working with groups of young people<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication, behaviour management, and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>A professional, flexible, and dependable approach to the working day<\/li>\n<li>A genuine desire to support young people&#8217;s education rather than deliver sport<\/li>\n<li>An <strong>Enhanced DBS on the Update Service<\/strong> (or willingness to complete a new application)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As an ethical, independent recruitment agency, GSL Education are committed to providing quality teaching and support staff across the UK.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To work with GSL Education in this role, you should:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have the right to work in the UK<\/li>\n<li>Hold an up-to-date CV with two references from the last 2 years<\/li>\n<li>Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information or to register your interest in this <strong>Sports Coach \/ Learning Support<\/strong> role, please click &#8216;Apply Now&#8217; to submit your full and up-to-date CV.
