SEN Teaching Assistant (long term, 5 days a week)

Lambeth

Start: ASAP

£75-£95 Per day

Time Plan Education are pleased to be working with a good mainstream primary school in Lambeth. They are recruiting a special needs teaching assistant to support a child in Y2 with Autism. The shortlisted candidate will work on a full-time basis via the agency.

This multi-cultural primary school has 489 students on roll. As an inclusive school, they have outstanding SEN resources and work hard to support students and families. As well as offering students an engaging curriculum, they also work hard to develop communication and social skills.

The school requires a skilled individual to work 1:1 with a child with multiple needs. The student can often become dysregulated and requires a TA who has the tools and strategies to help him with emotional regulation. The role requires someone who has experience and knowledge supporting children with ASD either within a SEN or mainstream school. Attributes that work well in this role include a calm and soft demeanour, alongside the ability to enforce boundaries and structure.

To apply for this role, you will need to have:

  • Previous experience supporting children with Autism
  • Strong understand and techniques for emotional regulation
  • Commit for the academic year
  • Provide references from a school or child related setting
  • A current DBS on the update service or be willing to complete a new DBS

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS if your current DBS is not on the update service.

Timeplan is a committed Equal Opportunities Employer and therefore will not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation.

If you are looking for a rewarding role in SEND and want to make difference, we want to hear from you! Please submit your CV today or you can contact Millie Freeman on (phone number removed) or via email
