HR Officer

Redditch • Permanent • Full Time • Salary Up to £25,000 DOE • 28-40 hours • would consider part time or full time

Arden Personnel are exclusively working with a leading healthcare provider who has over 70 branches across the UK.  This role is either someone CIPD qualified and is looking to study further and grow with the business.

The HR Officer day to day duties are to assist in the following:

  • To ensure new starters receive an induction and introduction to the Company
  • To monitor probationary periods and ensure reviews are completed in a timely manner
  • To oversee the training matrix and further opportunities for all employees
  • To take ownership of the apprenticeship programme and work experience opportunities
  • To make and distribute employees’ timesheets for payroll purposes
  • To accurately input and close payroll using Sage 50 Cloud
  • To carry out progress meetings with apprentices to ensure progression
  • To manage the GOV portal for apprenticeships, VISAS, and global job adverts
  • To support in the recruitment process and to advertise job adverts on all platforms
  • To monitor and process sickness records and to carry out welfare meetings
  • To lead with all disciplinary and grievance cases and administer formal sanction outcomes
  • To conduct formal investigation meetings and hearings in a timely manner
  • To ensure maternity and paternity leave is arranged and handled accordingly
  • To sort candidates’ applications and to arrange and conduct interviews
  • To manage Bradford Factor scores and chair sickness absence investigations
  • To produce, modify and distribute employee contracts and letters
  • To collate new starters, transfers, and leavers documentation
  • To check and obtain employees’ right to work in the UK status and documentation
  • To efficiently manage the HR mailbox by responding to all queries and concerns
  • To provide professional and confidential help and support to all employees
  • To support the People Team and Senior Management Team (SMT) with all HR administrative tasks
  • To enter and amend employees’ personal details in the HR database
  • To assist with checking and correcting employees’ timesheets when necessary
  • To help organise social events and to attend the monthly communication meeting
  • To review and up-date policies and procedures accordingly
  • To file and archive confidential data in accordance with GDPR
  • To carry out any other duties as reasonably required commensurate with the nature of the job and level of responsibility.

The Successful HR Officer must have the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • To remain confidential and professional at all times
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to work on own initiative
  • Flexible pro-active approach and able to prioritise tasks
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Payroll (SAGE 50 Cloud)
  • HR experience of a minimum of 2 years
  • Desire to undergo further HR training (CIPD)
  • Computer literate.
