Graduate Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £25,000 plus benefits

Location: Office location – Dartford (UKPN division)/site locations across London.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join us and the role will be based across various sites across London.

ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES

The post holder will be responsible to the Quantity Surveyor or such other commercial lead as shall be appointed to the contract from time-to-time. They will also be required to work with the appropriate operational team members, assisting in the overall project objectives.

Other responsibilities include:

Assisting with the negotiation of sub-contract orders
Assisting in the preparation of sub-contract order requisitions for approval
Maintaining sub-contract payment/charges registers
Carrying out under supervision, weekly sub-contract payments
Producing weekly cost and value reports
Production of site records as appropriate particularly where needed to support the presentation of change events
Reinforcing the need for disciplined cost allocation
Assistance in the monthly reporting cycle
Provide feedback on commercial matters to management
Other commercial administration activities as may be required from time to time.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Suitable degree level qualification (construction-based ideal but not essential)
Ability to analyse problems and offer solutions
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Confident & resilient
A team player
Computer literate (Microsoft Office suite with a particular bias to the manipulation of data sets in Excel).
