I’m working with a leading design consultancy based near Cambridge, specialising in the development of medical devices. We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join our team.

As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development of electronic solutions for medical devices. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design, develop, and test electronic circuits that meet regulatory requirements and are reliable, efficient, and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Electronics Engineer:

  • Design and development of electronic solutions for medical devices
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to define electronic architecture and requirements.
  • Design, develop, and test electronic circuits and systems, including PCB design and layout
  • Develop electronic solutions that comply with medical device regulations such as ISO 13485, IEC62304 and FDA guidelines
  • Develop and maintain electronic documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and test reports
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement activities
  • Mentor and train junior engineers

Qualifications/Experience required of the Senior Electronics Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
  • Strong experience in electronic design and development, including PCB design and layout
  • Experience in developing electronic solutions for medical devices is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for medical device electronics (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA guidelines)
  • Experience with electronic design software, such as Altium Designer or Cadence
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Verilog for FPGA’s is desirable but not essential.
  • Design consultancy experience would be highly advantageous.
