Trainee Accountant – Starting £19,000 – £21,000 per annum plus ACA or AAT full study package – excellent career progression
Benefits include 29 days annual leave including (8) bank holidays. This is a full time and permanent role. Full study package (worth around £8,000 for AAT and £20k for ACA) including professional study fees and training courses, books, membership fees and sufficient study time alongside relevant job-related work experience. Pension (employee and employer contributions). Core hours 9am to 5.15pm, one hour lunch daily
A long established, forward thinking, independent firm of Chartered Accountants, acting for high-net-worth individuals to large corporations is now looking to appoint two further trainees / graduates. The role will suit those interested in studying for the ACA or AAT professional accounting qualifications; a perfect opportunity for those wishing to pursue a career in practice accounting, earning whilst learning (fully funded study package and study leave) in an exceptional environment. This is a rare trainee opportunity offering progression through the firm, and the potential to undertake further sponsored accounting related studies moving forward.
The Trainee Accountant Role:
The position will allow you to develop your accounting skills whilst playing a vital role in our Accounts and Bookkeeping Departments. You will attend college (Reading) for the ACA (for graduates) or AAT (for school leavers) studies and exams and will be mentored throughout your training, helping you to achieve your full potential. Key tasks will include:
- Bookkeeping – using various software such as Xero and Sage 50
- VAT returns – preparation and submission to HMRC
- Accounts preparation for sole traders and limited companies
- Dealing with client queries
You will develop your skills by gaining practical experience and through studying the many aspects of accountancy.
Key Trainee Accountant requirements:
- Good G.C.S.E. and ideally A Level results or for ACA, degree educated in a numeracy based subject or a graduate
- Good mathematical ability
- Accurate and keen eye for detail
- Good communication skills
- Strong IT skills
- Good time management and the ability to balance work alongside college studies
