The Head of Function wants to bring someone into the business who is driven, intelligent and motivated to learn.

You will take responsibility for the indirect services for the facility, as well as support with material commodities.

There is a huge amount of knowledge in the business and they will help and guide you on this, giving you all the support you need.

As the Buyer, you’ll be building and developing relationships with the existing suppliers.
You will conduct benchmarking activities to ensure you are getting the best services at the best quality and price.

You will inherit processes and governance to manage KPI’s that monitor supplier performance and establish contracts with metrics designed to protect the business.

The job is highly numerical, you’ll need to scrutinise the numbers and understand and challenge price increases, using historical data to support this.

Key duties:

> Build supplier relationships; conduct negotiations regarding pricing, contracts and quotations in accordance with company policies
> Develop project plans to ensure the company’s purchasing goals are met
> Interface with suppliers, lead supplier meetings where necessary to monitor service, cost, delivery and quality
> Negotiate improved terms of business with key current suppliers, whilst researching, developing and evaluating new suppliers on a truly global scale
> Monitor and report upon supplier performance, liaise with quality assurance on supplier status, produce monthly reporting on all of the above as required by Departmental Manager
> Manage performance improvement activities with the suppliers

Background:

> Ideally you’ll be a graduate with a couple of years’ industry experience

> You can network internally, identify key stakeholders and you always deliver both internally and externally
> Preferably a manufacturing background with a proven record of purchasing production materials or commodities; however, other disciplines with a wish to move into manufacturing will definitely be considered

Salary:
£28,000 – £30,000 + package
