Butler Ross have an excellent opportunity for a Buyer to come and join a manufacturing company based in Gloucester. This is a family led business who are expanding and therefore looking for a new buyer to head up the UK procurement function and help pave the way for increased business and growth. Once settled this Buyer will also be managing 2 junior buyers.

This role would be well suited to a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Category Manager, Commodity Manager, Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Specialist, Purchasing Specialist or Procurement Lead.

Duties of the Buyer

• Develop and successfully manage an effective purchasing strategy across the UK arm of the business.
• Establish and maintain lean and continuous improvement methods with service providers and suppliers to reduce costs and stabilise supply chain.
• Monitor and IT systems including ERP data and MRP outputs (Forecasts, PO’s and expediting)
• Source, approve and hand-pick new suppliers inline with compliance and accredited standards.
• Develop commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Once settled the Buyer will also be managing 2 junior buyers within the team.

Experienced Required of the Buyer

• Experience within a similar high level Buyer role in a busy manufacturing environment.
• Ability to manage multiple divisions within the group, project management skills will help with this.
• Knowledge of principles of modern supply chain.
• Good level of understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Previous experience within legal compliance and meeting quality standards.
• Natural influencer and leader, no leadership experience is required but this would be advantageous.

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000

They would ideally like this person in office as much as possible but are open to have conversations around hybrid working.
