We are really excited to announce our new hostel due to open in Chester this June, YHA Trafford Hall.
This will be a unique operation as we will be working alongside our partner (url removed) . The Regenda Group regenerates places and works with people to create the opportunities they need to thrive. They are a dynamic group of organisations doing very different things: working in places where they can make a difference. Their values are in line with our own and we are excited about what we can achieve together at YHA Trafford Hall.
Trafford Hall is a beautiful 18th century listed building set in extensive grounds with good transport links to Chester and other major cities. The main Hall has a suite of meeting rooms which will be utilised as a training and conference venue. The main accommodation area comprises of 42 ensuite rooms and surrounds a beautiful garden courtyard, there is an additional annex building with a further 11 ensuite rooms.

Our catering manager role requires flexibility to cover different shifts and tasks.
Our catering managers are responsible for supporting the management of an operational budget and delivery of KPI’s, therefore, previous leadership experience and experience managing budgets is desired. Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA along with excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
Proven experience of working with the hospitality industry would be advantageous and significant experience of food and beverage best practice is essential. Qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/ 1&2, NVQ4 or equivalent level of experience, Food Safety Level 2 Certificate are desired. Experience working knowledge of allergens and health and safety compliance requirements along with excellent numeracy skills and experience of stock control and waste principles to maximise profit is essential.
What you’ll be doing:
Our catering managers are responsible for the management of the food and beverage (F&B) operation within our hostel, leading the preparation and delivery to agreed YHA standards. You’ll have responsibility for the achievement of targets across the F&B function, maximising profit and minimising waste. You will have management responsibility for team members.
