Synopsis
When asked to return the money he owed to his father-in-law, Sardar Gurfateh Singh, a 50-year-old grain seller entails the help of his family to increase his income. His family includes his wife, his good-for-nothing younger brother, and three kids who are 16, 9 and 7 years old.
They try their hands at various things that were prevalent in those times but money is hard to come by, Though some humorous situations do take place amongst the hardship. Now that’s expected when 7-9 year olds get going about moneymaking.
However, the family do not lose hope and are still at it when on October 31st, 1984, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi is assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards. And all of a sudden, this Sikh family is seen making efforts to save their lives instead of saving money.
DIRECTOR BIO
After graduating in English Literature from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, Sandeep Kumar Rana did a PG Diploma in TV Production from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan.
In 2005, he got his first break and wrote a Hindi feature film titled Yaad Rakhenge Aap. The film has its name in the Limca Book of Records.
In 2016, he wrote and directed a short film Auzaar that has been screened in over eight international film festivals including the prestigious Third Eye Asian Film Festival in Mumbai. This short was based on the Sachar Committee report on the conditions of Muslims.
In 2019, he wrote and directed San 84 Justice.
