Synopsis
India’s Daughter is a haunting documentary about the 2012 horrific gang rape of Jyoti Singh. The film explored the society and values of India, after the 23-year-old medical student from Delhi was murdered on a moving bus.
The filmmaker had exclusive and unprecedented access to the rapists, examining their mindsets through interviews.
Featuring reactions from Jyoti’s parents, the police and many other key people, the film was a catalyst for change.
The film has received many accolades including ‘Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary’ at the 2015 United Nations Association Film Festival.
