Her elegant trousseau pieces are a weakness for summer brides this season.
Designer Parul J Maurya launched her Spring/Summer 2016 collection on February 14, 2016 in New Delhi.
Unveiling the collection at the launch event was Bollywood actress and fashion icon, Sonam Kapoor.
Dressed in anwhite top paired with black trousers and aviators, the fashionista checked out what’s hot and trendy this season.
She was joined by actress Farheen Prabhakar, designer Preeti Ghai, Nikita Khattar, Rouchika, Roshni and many others.
Parul J Maurya’s obsession with hand painted whites is evident in her latest collection.
Her clothes conjur up images of nature, with sea life and birds playing a major role in her romance with artsy prints.
Florals are also delicately used throughout her pieces, demonstrating a vibrant feel to the summery collection.
Her elegant trousseau pieces will be a weakness for all summer brides this season.
They paint the portrait of a rockstar bride, with a penchant for embellished English bodice and floor length draped gowns, flowy dramatic lehengas, hand painted cocktail dresses.
Parul’s emphasis on zippered jackets, dresses and skirts in organza in bold cuts and neutral colours forms the essential part of brides’ journey towards getting married.
And of course, the designer is not just recognised for her work in women’s’ clothing. She also incorporates a menswear section which is essential for any man’s wedding diary.
She rocks the power couple vibe, delicately designing extraordinary pieces and crafting matching wardrobes for them.
To take an example, her edgy yet elegant cocktail drapes for women are superbly supported by her exquisite tuxedos and printed bundi for men.
This collection is surely for those who like to look glamourous in all aspects of their life!
Sonam is also staying hot in the public eye for her new film, Neerja (2016), directed by Ram Madhvani.
She will be seen playing the role of real-life air hostess, Neerja Bhanot, who saved many lives on board of a hijacked plane 1986.
The film, however, will not be shown in Pakistan reportedly because it portrays the nation in a negative manner.
A disappointed Sonam tells reporters: “We have shown Pakistan in a very very good light in this movie. And I hope when people do watch it, they understand.”
Extremely disheartened that #Neerja isn’t releasing this Friday in Pakistan. She was awarded by them & I hope they will salute her again.
