Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015 is almost here, and we have everything you need to know, from dates, to designers, and even sneak peek collections!
"I'm really excited and looking forward to a cutting edge show.”
No year would be complete without the annual Lakmé Fashion Week Winter Festive. It tells you all the right trends, the hot designers to take heed of, and so much more!
This year, the Winter/Festive edition will take place from August 26 to August 30 2015, and looks set to be the most exciting yet.
The fashion platform will give 22 designers the chance to showcase their work on an international level.
And organisers have even made sure that the set is just as tantalising as the event itself. The newly transformed Jabong stage will be within the spacious Pallazio room, and is big enough to sit over 250 guests!
The stage will host a series of seminars, workshops and runway shows throughout the event, and will catapult a new age of fashion and designers into the spotlight, as it did last year.
But who are the lucky designers set to showcase their collections on one of the most fashionably iconic runways? Here’s a list of who you can expect to see:

The 66 foot long runway will be flooded with the newest fashion content, and will bring with it a selection of quirky, edgy designs.
Lakmé is the buzz of India at the moment, and has got everyone talking!
Purnima Lamba, Head of Innovations at Lakmé, celebrated the event, commenting:
“Every season we select and showcase some of the most promising creative minds who we believe will grow into household names in the future.
“Looking at the current pool of designers picked by the advisory board, we are confident that Winter/Festive 2015 will be an exciting season of fresh designs and fashion excellence.”
Saket Dhankar, Vice President and Head-Fashion of IMG Reliance, also explained why he thinks the Jabong stage is important for the designers.
“The Jabong stage is rechristened as the new and second main show area at Lakmé Fashion Week.
“First time ever for an Indian fashion week, the dynamic platform will showcase new age, finest fashion talent and content in varied forms.”
“Lakmé Fashion Week continues to innovate, bring forth avant-garden and significant initiatives, continuing to redefine the future of fashion in India.”
And as if we weren’t already excited by the fashion event of the year, a handful of designers set to grace this year’s LFW may have just put the cherry on top of the cake.
Grand Curtain Raiser – Hyderabad
To commemorate their 15 year milestone of LFW, a handful of Hyderabad-based designers who are set to grace this year’s LFW, gave a sneak peak of their collections on Wednesday 23rd July!
Anushree Reddy, Gaurang Shah, Divya Reddy, and Neeta Lulla were a select few who showcased their exquisite collections and narrated the inspiration behind their lines.
Neeta Lulla revealed what fans could expect to see from her designs:
“This year my collection is dedicated to the bride. It is a Winter/Festive bridal collection in synergy with their upcoming looks for the season for the brand. I’m really excited and looking forward to a cutting edge show.”
Anushree Reddy also gave fans a preview of her newest designs of traditional Anarkalis, Sarees, and Bridal Lehegnas.
Explaining her motive for the collection, she stated: “The idea was to craft clothes that are easy to wear.”
As well as those who have previewed their work, who else can we expect to see at this year’s most anticipated fashion show?
Opening and Finale Shows
Well, old and new faces will team up with Lakmé for 2015.
6 new models have recently been announced to join the Lakmé family and have added a fresh new spin to the week’s proceedings.
Veteran fashion designers, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla will bring their knowledge and expertise as they make their LFW debut, opening the week with their couture collection, Jawani Janeman.
As with every fashion show, the closing finale is one of the most explosive slots for a designer to fill. And LFW have made no exception this year, lining up Gaurav Gupta to send shockwaves down the runway with his grand finale show.
Reinvented stages, new models, veteran designers, and that is all before the week has even begun!
