India’s Next Top Model returns for a second season on MTV India, with more gorgeous girls battling for the top prize. DESIblitz has all the details.
Winner of season one was 18-year-old Danielle Canute
The second season of India’s Next Top Model (INTM) returns to MTV India with more glitz, glamour and battling beauties.
The TV show which first aired in 2015 in India sees young and beautiful women compete with each other for the prize of becoming India’s biggest and most sought after model.
Many of the young girls entering the competition come from all across India and its states.
Some have little or no experience of the modelling or fashion industry and are simply looking to make their big break.
Winner of season one was 18-year-old Danielle Canute who wowed the judges with her natural grace and modelling acumen.
The popular modelling franchise has enjoyed success all over the world, and following a hugely popular first season, has set a new trend in India.
Returning as host and judge is Bollywood diva Lisa Haydon. Lisa is the epitome of elegance and glamour, and what every budding young model aspires to be.
She is particularly supportive of small town Indian girls who have no experience of what international modelling or fashion is.
Known for her honest and sometimes brutal opinions, fiery Lisa is the perfect mentor to guide and advise the contestants on their journey to become a top model.
Also returning to the judging panel are Dabboo Ratnani, Anusha Dandekar and Neeraj Gaba.
Dabboo is famously known as the go-to photographer for Bollywood stars, and will be the chief photographer on INTM.
VJ Anusha is a popular TV host for MTV India, while Neeraj is a talented image consultant and grooming expert.
During season one, the sassy Neeraj exclusively told DESIblitz that the three things he looks for in a model are: “Confidence, carriage and versatility.”
The TV show sees the girls face tough tasks that will give them a glimpse into the competitive world of the beauty industry. They will face guest mentors, tough judges and professional photographers.
Season One of INTM saw the girls model for a series of themed photoshoots, from mannequins, superheroes and even a makeup commercial for Lakmé.
The Top Model judges very much enjoy putting the girls out of their comfort zone. The first episode saw the girls thrown into the deep end as they were asked to walk the ramp in swimwear.
For many of the contestants of India’s Next Top Model, the exposure on national television has been superb for their modelling careers, and the winner will enjoy a strong entry as India’s newest Top Model.
Previous winner Danielle had the privelege of walking the ramp for India’s biggest fashion shows, Lakmé Fashion Week, as well as a full photoshoot spread in Grazia India magazine.
India’s Next Top Model Season 2 will be coming to MTV India in June 2016. Be sure to tune in.
