A girls night out is a great way to have fun, however it’s really important that you stay safe, DESIblitz explores what to look out for on a night out.
Apps can also be used to make sure you stay safe
Going on a night out with the girls is a great way to let loose, blow off steam and generally have a really fun time.
As much as we’d all love to go out with no worries, it’s something that most girls just can’t afford to do.
Whether it’s dealing with aggressive boys who want their numbers, or making sure they can get home safely – women’s lives have a tendency to revolve around staying out of danger.
Now this may seem a bit over the top to many, but if you’ve ever been extra cautious walking around at night time or in an empty car park – then you know that safety is a priority for many.
DESIblitz explores what girls need to look out for on a night out.
Eat Before You Go Out
Now drinking is all fun and games, but you have to make sure you eat beforehand. It will help your body in the long run and make sure you’re not a puke filled mess throughout the night.
Eating will not stop the damage being done to you, but it will help your hangover and make the chances of you blacking out during the night less likely.
Charge Your Phone
This may seem like common sense, but you’d be surprised how many girls go out and after 30 minutes realise – they forgot to charge their phone and now it’s dying,
Charge your phone whilst you’re getting ready, that will give you enough time to get it to full battery without you having to wait around.
Having your phone fully charged makes it easier for you to call cabs, stay in contact with friends and also take selfies throughout the night.
Plan Your Journey
Taking into account how you’re going to get to the club and leave is very important.
It’s also important to see if you can travel in groups for both journeys, as you’ll save money and also having a friends along will make you feel safe.
Use Apps to Stay Safe
It’s safe to say that with the rise and growth of social media and technology that apps play a huge part in our day to day lives.
There are many many apps that are designed to make sure you stay safe. Using apps like Circle of 6 which allows users to choose 6 people in their network and stops the violence before it happens.
It’s also discreet, so if the user feels unsafe they can send their exact location to their friends without anyone else knowing.
Stay With Your Friends
It’s always tempting to run off and have fun with other people, especially when you’re drinking. However staying with your girls and knowing their whereabouts is vital.
It’s also good to make plans beforehand to leave together so that you can make sure that you all get home safe.
Asian student, Sameera tells DESIblitz: “Whenever I used to go out with my girls we had a rule to never go home without each other. It seemed ridiculous to many but we wanted to make sure we all got home safe.”
Now everyone who drinks should know that to prevent hangovers you should drink water, however not everyone actually does this.
Staying hydrated is super important, especially if you want to stay somewhat aware of what’s going on around you.
Keep Track of Your Drinks
Being aware of your drinks is super important, to make sure you don’t go overboard try taking a picture of all of your drinks.
Also keep an eye of your drinks as drink spiking is a huge problem and it’s something that happens more often than you’d think.
If you absolutely need to go to the toilet, then instead of leaving it on a table, give it a friend instead.
Never Leave Your Purse Alone
I know when alcohol is involved we all tend to let loose and forget everything around us. But never leave your purse unattended, because if someone were to steal it then all your personal belongings would be gone in an instant.
If you absolutely can’t carry anything with you, then leave your purse in the trunk of your car, or give your things to a friend that you trust.
We all know going out is fun and games, especially if you’ve just done a lot of work and really want to let loose.
However, your safety will always be more important, so take these tips on board so that you can have the best night out whilst also being safe and protected.
