The IIFA Awards 2015 showcased the best in Indian fashion. But with so many gorgeous looks to choose from, who made DESIblitz’s Best Dressed List this year?
Deepika Padukone stunned in a Sabyasachi Mukherjee sequined saree.
Bollywood gathered for a final evening of fashion display at the IIFA Awards’ green carpet on June 7, 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Since the IIFA weekend opened with IIFA Rocks on June 5, the big names of B-town have been flaunting their designer outfits and beautiful jewellery for the cameras.
But of course, they have saved the best till last for the IIFA Awards, where a victory on the green carpet is as important as taking home IIFA’s sun-inspired trophy.
DESIblitz finds out who stole the limelight on the green carpet at the IIFA Awards 2015!
Best Dressed Women
1. Deepika Padukone
Opting for a Sabyasachi Mukherjee saree, Deepika Padukone stunned in this sequined number. The red saree draped perfectly around the actress and had everyone blushing at her beauty.
Her gold earrings complimented the glistening embroidery on the dress. With bold red lips to match, Deepika flew the flag for traditional Indian fashion wear.
2. Kainaat Arora
Kainaat Arora looked classically beautiful in a Swapnil Shinde gown. The star quite literally captured our hearts in her strapless black gown, accessorised with a heart shaped bustier.
The gown was layered with a daring ruffled design towards the back. Kainaat kept it simple with her hair and makeup, wearing Aqua Marine jewellery to complete her stunning look.
3. Lauren Gottlieb
Lauren Gottlieb rocked a red strapless Mayyur Girotra gown. The body of the dress captured her perfect silhouette, whilst the flowing trail added a dash of elegance.
With her hair swept to the side, Lauren showcased her gorgeous diamond encrusted earrings, which were complimented by her shimmering eye makeup.
4. Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma looked ravishing in her regal red gown, designed by Gauri & Nainika.
The figure hugging bodice clinched in perfectly at her enviously petite waist, whilst the trail cascaded elegantly down the star’s legs. Wearing red lipstick to match, Anushka was radiating with sweet elegance.
5. Dia Mirza
Actress Dia Mirza made jaws drop in her plum-coloured Shantanu and Nikhil designed dress. The gold shouldered embroidery was a show-stopping feature.
The black and gold clutch paired perfectly with her Farah Khan Ali jewellery, whilst her deep red lip tone sealed the deal, placing Dia as one of our Best Dressed Women.
Worst Dressed Women
Lisa Haydon looked unusually drab, wearing a flesh revealing cut-out gown which exposed both her waist and legs. The choker neckline draped with gold embellishments, however, was truly gorgeous and saved the star from a full fashion fail.
Best Dressed Men
1. Anil Kapoor
Anil Kapoor enters our best dressed list for a second year running. Wearing a classic black and white tux, Anil charmed the audience in his bow tie. His clean cut hair and beard definitely had the crowd drooling over his gentlemanly look.
2. Hrithik Roshan
Another strong contender on our best dressed list two years in a row is Hrithik Roshan. He rocked a red hot velvet suit jacket with a matching bow tie and looked absolutely dashing.
The velvet material was a big hit with fashion critics. His pristine sleeked back hair added to his dapper look and no doubt made girls go weak at their knees.
3. Shahid Kapoor
Heartthrob Shahid Kapoor charmed us all with his rough and rugged look, sending social media into frenzy. His open shirt gave the ladies a hint of his ever present sex appeal, whilst the fitted suit gave Shahid a touch of sophistication.
4. Ranveer Singh
The IIFA host opted for a satin red three piece suit paired with a black top hat. Whilst we cannot quite decide whether Ranveer’s outfit was a hit or miss, it was definitely a stand-out look.
The suit was beautiful in its detailing, and he looked preened to perfection. Ranveer accessorised with a black cane and red glasses which certainly jazzed up his style.
5. Ritesh Deshmukh
Ritesh Deshmukh mesmerised in a black and white tuxedo and sleek hairstyle. The satin panelling across the jacket’s chest perfectly stirred up this fitted classic number.
Worst Dressed Men
Singer Mika Singh was a disappointment. His loose navy shirt, deep black waistcoat and grey trousers clashed against one another, making him look more drab than fab.
Other stars who narrowly missed out on this year’s Best Dressed list were Sonakshi Sinha and Parineeti Chopra.
Sonakshi donned a dazzling and daring black number, whilst Parineeti opted for a tight black gown with a gorgeous ruffled design towards the hem.
As IIFA 2015 comes to an end, we cannot wait till Bollywood comes together for the next IIFA’s weekend of music, fashion and cinema extravaganza!
